Dr. Chen-Fang Hsu is a Taiwanese pianist and educator specializing in collaborative piano. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she studied with Dr. Alexandra Nguyen and Professor Margaret McDonald. She also earned a Performer Diploma in Collaborative Piano and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University Bloomington, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Application from the University of Taipei.


A passionate and versatile collaborator, Dr. Hsu has performed with the Boulder Symphony, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, CU Boulder Wind Symphony, and CU Chamber Singers, and served as répétiteur for CU Boulder’s Eklund Opera productions. She has worked extensively with both vocalists and instrumentalists in studio classes, recitals, and competitions, and has been recognized with prizes from the Taiwan-Asia International Piano Competition, the Excellent Music Open Competition of Taiwan, and the Japan Classical Music Competition.


As an educator, Dr. Hsu has held teaching and collaborative positions at Westminster College (PA), the University of Colorado Boulder, Indiana University, the Brevard Music Festival, and several music academies in Georgia and Taiwan. Most recently, she served on the music faculty at Westminster College, where she accompanied the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, District V Honors Chorus, and Opera Scenes, and led weekly coaching sessions with students. She continues to lead a vibrant life as a performer and teacher, and is passionate about making music in partnership with

others.
